Karibu was not born into the Kabirizi family and in fact we are not sure of her exact origins. On 5 December 2000 she just appeared into the Kabirizi family and in 2002 she became an adult female. Kabirizi had no problem in accepting Karibu into his family and since her arrival Karibu has given Kabirizi 2 children.

Karibu and Serundori

Karibu means Welcome in Swahili and she is a calm female who is easy to approach. She is not very playful however, and we think that because she did not spend her youth with this family she has not developed playful friendships with her peers. She seems perfectly content however – and we enjoy her presence in the group.
